Conference

Meeting G2 Conference is an event held once a year, where G2 stands for 2nd generation. That abbreviation describes that the main goal of the Conference is to connect and network business people from the homeland with Croatian business people from all parts of the world, emigrants of the 2nd, but also 3rd and 4th generation. The long-term goals of MG2 are to increase emigrant investment in Croatia as well as to support companies from Croatia that are export-oriented through connections with Croatian chambers and Croatian business people around the world.

The organizer of the conference is the “Multidisciplinary team of Croatians both in our Homeland and abroad” whose main goal is to connect business people from Croatia and its diáspora in order to enhance the diaspora’s investment in the Homeland. We strive to carry out our mission as ordinary volunteers, because we deeply believe that Croatia can be richer, happier and more developed – precisely with the help of diaspora and in a close cooperation with the numerous Croatian emigration. We at MG2 strongly believe that Croatia has not only 4 million inhabitants, as shown by the last population census, but even 8 million, because around 4 million Croatians live all over the world.

For the first 8 years, Conference was held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. The first six conferences were held in the Congress Center Forum Zagreb, but then covid-19 disrupted us and changed everything, forcing us to hold virtual and hybrid gatherings. This year, the MG2 Conference leaves Zagreb for the first time! We have found the perfect place for networking of business people from Croatia and the world in Sisak – at the PISAK Business Incubator. Meeting G2.9 will be held on September 28 and 29, 2023.
You can find more information about the first eight conferences in the section on Activities and Conclusions at already held conferences.

The Meeting G2 Conferences, including MG2.9, are intended for all business people from Croatia and business people of Croatian origins from all over the world – who see opportunities for growth and development of their businesses and ideas in creating new contacts with other fellow Croatians around the world.

Our events are regularly attended by foreign businessmen and entrepreneurs of Croatian origin, representatives of Croatian chambers from around the world, from Australia and Europe to North and South America, representatives of Croatian companies interested in exporting as well as developing projects in Croatia through cooperation with Croats from abroad.

Our events are regularly supported by the most important institutions in Croatia. In addition to the former President of the Republic of Croatia, who gave high patronage to all previous conferences and personally participated in them, there were always the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia, the City of Zagreb, the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts, the Agency for Investments and Competitiveness , HAMAG-BICRO, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Zagreb Tourist Board, among others.

More than 1100 guests have participated in the eight conferences so far, including more than 300 successful Croatian businessmen from 34 countries.

Croatian businesswomen and men from 34 countries have participated so far in the first 8 MG2 conferences – coming from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Equatorial Guinea, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Monaco, The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Peru, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, UK (United Kingdom) and the USA (United States of America), Venezuela and of course – Croatia.
