First panelists of the Meeting G2.7 conference

What can we say about people who have produced the most environmentally friendly sneakers in the world, that can be thrown into compost with a clear conscience, where they will literally – decompose? Or about a man who carved out a craft in Silicon Valley and moved his business miracle to perhaps the most unexpected city – Sisak?

We can proudly say that they are one of the panelists at the upcoming 7th edition of the MEETING G2 conference organized by the Association for Business Connections of Croatia and Croatian Diaspora – Meeting G2.

Let us introduce you to our first panelists of this year’s Conference, whose inspiring entrepreneurial stories are unparalleled:

The Boljar brothers from Zagreb conquered the world with their innovation, and raised the vision of the ecological to unimaginable heights. Hrvoje and Domagoj produced the Miret sneakers brand, which is 97% made of natural and biodegradable materials such as corn, cork and hemp. And they don’t think to stop because now they have a new ambition – to produce 100% biodegradable sneakers! Two years ago at MG2.5 they won our prize as the best Start-up, and now at MG2.7 they will share with us their story of business success, visions and ambitions.

Equally inspiring is the story of Matt Darko Sertić, who was a panelist at our MG2.2 in 2016. He made his first million in Silicon Valley about 30 years ago, when he founded Applied Ceramics to manufacture microchip parts. And while everyone was turning to the Far East, in 2008 he made a surprising move and started the same production – in Sisak, Croatia. This entrepreneur, who lives and works on the Sisak-California route, has returned the entrepreneurial spirit from diaspora to his homeland and is now starting the production of battery cartridges for electric vehicles with incredible visionary energy. His 220 million Euro project aims to employ 350 workers. He will share his experiences and advice with us on how world-important production can be started in Croatia.
