MEETING G2.11 WILL BE HELD ON OCTOBER 17TH AND 18TH, BUT WHY IN NOVSKA?!
About ten days ago, we announced that the 11th MEETING G2 conference, which connects business between homeland and diaspora Croatia, will be held on October 17th and 18th in Novska. Many were surprised: why are we going to Novska, what will we do there?! Some members of the MEETING G2 Association were born in Zagreb, and we all live in Zagreb. Our headquarters is also there. However, we all think the same: not all investments and conferences should go to Zagreb. We are for decentralization! We held the MG2.9 conference in Sisak in 2023, and now we’re going to Novska. We’re returning to the Sisak-Moslavina County, heading to the westernmost city of Slavonia.
So, why Novska? One of the reasons we discovered last week. Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, along with several ministers from the Croatian Government, County Prefect, and Novska Mayor Marija Kušmiš, officially opened the construction site of the first European gaming industry center! The new campus on a vast 9 hectares will include an accelerator, a faculty, a student dormitory for 250 students, an e-sport arena with 2,500 seats, sports halls, playgrounds, and a pool. The total project value is approximately 100 million euros!
We at MEETING G2 are thrilled by the energy of Novska’s leaders. We like their vision of demographic renewal. By creating new jobs and launching modern industries primarily focused on young people, Novska wants to retain and attract youth. And we from MG2 want to help them—by connecting them with young people from the diaspora all over the world. Therefore, we ask all friends of MEETING G2 to spread this news among young people in your communities worldwide. We aim for as many young emigrants of the second, third, and fourth generations to come to Novska—the future center of the European gaming industry! Maybe our world-renowned and successful “gaming” companies will find their new employees, customers, partners, and friends in the diaspora.
