BA/NOVA Possible Futures for Banovina
The meaning of the term “revitalization” refers to the revival, restoration of life, and rejuvenation. In the 21st century, this same revival and progress can be summarized in one word, and that is – innovation.
Dr. Alisa Andrašek, an award-winning architect and leader in the field of design and innovation, who works on advanced solutions for buildings and cities using cutting-edge science and technology, will speak about her innovative project and the idea focused on Banovina, her place of origin.
She brings artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics to the forefront of architectural design and construction. She is the founder of Biothing, an award-winning design laboratory; AIARCH, which works at the intersection of AI and design; and a co-founder of AI Build and Bloom Games. Andrašek is a professor of design innovation at RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology). Before that, she led a globally recognized program in advanced architectural design at UCL in London and conducted research at the Architectural Association in London and Columbia University in New York.
She collaborated with many renowned architects and technology companies such as Zaha Hadid, ARUP, Buro Happold, Hitachi Japan, and Nvidia. Her work has been exhibited at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the New Museum in New York, as well as at the Biennales in Beijing and Venice, among others.
Alisa Andrašek grew up in Petrinja, Croatia. We will see her vision for the new Banovina – on the first day of the conference, Thursday, September 28th, in the afternoon.
