This year’s conference titled ‘Strength in adversity’ brings a handful of inspirational stories about business that overcame the challenges brought to the world with the COVID-19 pandemic. Listen to the challenges of entrepreneurs from all over the world, and how they have found new ways of doing business. You will hear the views of not only entrepreneurs of Croatian origin & returnees to Croatia, but also those who fell in love with Croatia and made the choice to raise their family and in turn create extremely successful businesses in Croatia.
Here is an overview of two topics you can hear more about during the conference:
HOMECOMING / Identity & Opportunity
You will hear from the association Obnova iz Zagreba / Restoration / Zagreb. Their projects aims to systematically encourage the return of young, educated and qualified expatriates to the Homeland by providing them with the help of partner companies with career opportunities exclusively in the private sector.
The role of the aforementioned Association and partners is to provide of private sector match-making of in the labor market, with a focus on expatriate-returnees. It will work with previously contracted companies that look for people with a defined experiences and skill sets, often linked to the region from which candidates originates from. Due to the mass eviction of young people from Croatia, this project sends a symbolic message that reversing the trend is possible. The Homecoming project aims to offer candidates concrete employment opportunities that will motivate the candidate to enter into a permanent return to Croatia. The Homecoming program also offers candidates support in their return with a multitude of lectures and other activities and help them find accommodation or in simplifying administrative procedures. The association looks at itself as more of a fellowship.
The aim of this year’s G2.6 conference is to present the project and invite participants from Croatian diaspora emigrating to inform their children, partners and friends about this unique opportunity. Moderator Ante Lučić, Marko Paradžik (President of the Association Obnova) and young returnees Denis Daničić and Angela Krčelić will share their first hand experience.
WORLDS BEST PLACE FOR DIGITAL NOMADS
The idea of working remotely has become and continues to become a reality for more and more of us in the world. With the fast paced development in technology, remote working will become a new ‘norm’. With this in mind, Croatia aims to be among the first in the world to introduce a “digital nomad visa”. Digital nomads are people who make their living while travelling to destinations around the world without hesitation. They often work from foreign countries, cafes, libraries, co-working offices or recreation vehicles. Millions of people, often with considerable consumer power, choose a nomadic lifestyle, and Croatia is increasingly recognized as the next desirable place due to its favorable climate, landscape, security and improved business conditions.
Is Croatia the best place for digital nomads in the world? We ask international experts for their opinion of what constitutes the perfect digital nomadic destination.
This is the theme of a panel that will certainly get and hold your attention, with excellent panelists: moderator Eugene B. Jones, Jan de Jong (investor and entrepreneur with Croatian address, leading advocate of digital nomads), Paul Bradbury (Total Croatia News), Andreas Will Gerdes (entrepreneur), Katarina Bulić Bestulić (lawyer and founder of Business Adriatic Forum), Tanja J. Polegubić (return from Australia, owner of Saltwater).
This is two of many topics that await you – keep following us, and stay tuned for more news on what awaits for you on G2.6. Do not forget to reserve your place today, by following the link: REGISTER TO MG2.6.
