Stipe Božić, a renowned Croatian alpinist, delivered a motivational lecture at Meeting G2.10 conference titled “Croats at the Top of the World – Overcoming Climbing and Obstacles.”

In his talk, Stipe Božić described the motivations that led him to pursue mountaineering and his more than 40 years of conquering some of the world’s highest peaks.
“To engage in mountaineering means living on the edge of danger. Many ask why we do it, as climbing to the top has no material benefits. But when we reach the summit of the world, the myth of the sanctity of mountains disappears, leaving behind the answer to the question – why do we do this? We strive to find answers in the beauty of the views, and the camaraderie and friendships formed on the mountain provide experiences comparable only to those gained in times of war or within a community. Motivation is something that cannot be taught – it comes from within. But once you have it, you can push the boundaries of human possibilities. However, nothing can be achieved without a team. In sports, as in mountaineering, it doesn’t matter the background of a team member, but rather their ability to work as part of a team,” said Stipe Božić.
