Tomislav Kuljis (Bolivia): We Croats Are Strongest When Times Are Toughest – We Have the Strength and Spirit of Winners!

One of the keynote speakers at our milestone 10th MEETING G2.10 conference was Tomislav Kuljis, one of the most successful and wealthiest entrepreneurs in Bolivia. His family arrived in South America from the island of Vis even before World War II. Kuljis was also one of the recipients of our special “MG2 Excellence” award, which we had the honor and pleasure of personally presenting to him in Zagreb.

In his speech at MG2.10, he shared a personal and insightful story about the journey of the Kuljis family from the island of Vis to distant Bolivia.

He spoke about the small but highly successful Croatian community in Bolivia, some of whom rank among the wealthiest people in the country. He recounted the immense effort and hard work of his family, which led to the creation of one of the largest companies in Bolivia. Today, the HIPERMAXI supermarket chain employs more than 4,000 people, and the Kuljis family enjoys great respect in Bolivia as a hardworking and successful family.
